Blog

I have a website (AtmosferaLivre.com) where I post analyses of weather and climate events over South America and Brazil. The website also displays GFS model output for domains in South America to support operational meteorologists in weather analysis and teachers in classroom discussions of real-time weather.

The objective of the blog is to advance scientific discussions in South America. These discussions are in Portuguese and can be understood by Spanish speakers. The South American weather and climate community is relatively small, and very few attempt to maintain discussions of weather events and climate analysis on a daily basis. My goal is to motivate early career professionals and students to discuss topics from a scientific point of view, supported by evidence, on a daily basis. This should help forecasters base their decisions on evidence instead of subjective interpretations and encourage students to think more deeply about weather and climate, exploring research opportunities that arise from daily analyses.
